The Blouse Measurements Your Tailor Actually Needs

Nine measurements, taken over the right undergarments, and the two places to leave margin.
Most badly fitting blouses come from measurements taken over the wrong clothes.
Take these nine
- Full bust
- Upper bust
- Waist
- Shoulder width
- Sleeve length
- Sleeve round
- Blouse length
- Front neck depth
- Back neck depth
Take them wearing the bra you intend to wear with the blouse — it changes the bust measurement by an inch or more.
Leave a half-inch margin at the side seams. A blouse can be taken in easily; it cannot be let out if there is no fabric left.
